Notre Dame fans woke up to the news this morning in a fearful sweat with the news that "Touchdown Jesus" was struck by lightning.
But breathe easy Notre Dame fans for your famous "Touchdown" Jesus overlooking Notre Dame Stadium was not the victim of this act of nature.
Instead, it was another statue of Jesus with his hands raised celebrating a cross of the goal line that was struck with an earth-shattering bolt of electricity.
Confusion aside, the Ohio landmark left a church without its iconic statue in a precarious situation.
