To me sports have always been more than a game. It has been something I could watch or play and just get away from the real world struggles. At a young age I took on a love for sports to get closer to my brother and father.
I remember at a young age sitting there watching them play Techmo Super Bowl on the Saga Genesis. I didn’t know much about football at the time but I wanted to get in on the fun and that’s when I really started paying attention to the game more and getting into it.
As I got older my love for sports grew. I loved going to all my brothers basketball and football games. I got embarrassed at times because my dad was always one of those people who would yell at refs when they blew an “easy call.”
I was never the kid to go hang out with friends at games, I was always right there watching with my dad.
We went to a few pro games when we got the chance. I still remember him picking me up at a Lions game because every time Barry would break one off everyone would stand up which obstructed my view.
