Originally from Sudan, Bol Kong is a refugee, who has found a home on the hardwood. He has been tearing up the hoops scene in Canada, and although I was not able to dig up any stats from Douglas College (where Kong is currently playing), everything I have heard about him makes the 6'7" shooting guard seem like an intriguing prospect.
Because Sudan is listed as a sponsor of terrorism by the United States, Kong has previously been denied a Visa to study in the U.S. three times. Although he has lived in Canada since he was 7 he does not have citizenship there.
Kong has drawn interest from over 150 colleges and universities in the States, and has committed to Gonzaga, although it is unclear if he will even play for the Zags. Kong is arguably the best basketball prospect in Canada, but no one is sure if he will suit up for the Zags in the coming season, or if he will ever have his Visa issues resolved.
