As I’ve stated in the past, I’m not a big fan of books that employ superlatives like "best" and "greatest."
Add to that "Most," as in Overrated: The 50 Most Overhyped Things in History , by Mark Juddery, who judges baseball as "the most overrated sport."
Of course, he also considers Star Trek the most overrated TV show and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (The Beatles) to be the most overrated rock album. "Whether or not it’s the greatest rock album, it’s certainly one of the most pretentious," he says in this USA Today article .
Look, everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, but this guy ain’t even ‘Merican, dammit, he’s Australian! And he’s calling our national pastime overrated?
