Thursday's news of a rape allegation against Lawrence Taylor was saddening, but knowing the NFL legend's sordid past, it's far from a surprise.
Taylor is like so many athletes who were pampered throughout their rise to fame and had no idea how to handle the real world after retirement.
Other stars feel so entitled to act beyond moral and legal standards that they fall faster than they rose to that stardom.
