Oakland Raiders’ BR Page Is Learning Material For Sports and Math Month
On March - 31 - 2010
The Oakland Raiders' Bleacher Report team page is more than a place of "fussing and fighting" over who is the best player, coach or team. It is also about educating young people to think, write and to have a voice. It also gives them a chance to use words, statistics, and their love and knowledge of sports to make good decisions.
On April 1, 2010 the Mathematical Association of America and other math groups are celebrating Mathematics Awareness Month. The theme this year is "Sports and Mathematics."
Damali is flanked by college students who have read many of the articles written on the Bleacher ...

This Just In: Jemele Hill Knows Her Sports
On March - 31 - 2010
In actuality she doesn’t. And seriously: it’s been enough already. I believe she’s been at ESPN for about three full years now. I hadn’t read anything for a pretty long time and was wondering why. I was also pleasantly surprised.
I’d hadn’t had a sports gripe for some time (aside from all the overrated dunks and blocks of the Prince himself on top 10 plays every night) and didn’t know what was up.
I guessed that those fortunately-covered white athletes finally toned down their bad habits and actions or got even more preferential treatment and were completely absolved before any press could ...
The Tiger Woods Saga
On March - 31 - 2010
I have been a fan of Tiger Woods in the only way I know him for years, and that is as a golfer. I am glad he is back; I think he will compete at the Masters and I wonder if one year he can win all four majors.
The saying 'we are a forgiving nation' doesn't make sense to me. If I ever meet Tiger Woods I don't know what I would say but I know I would not say that 'I forgive you.'
We are an apathetic nation looking for the next scandal and the Tiger Woods Saga is ...
Oakland Raiders’ Coaches Need To Know Their Jobs From A Thru Z
On March - 31 - 2010
There seems to be a cognitive gap in expertise of the Oakland Raiders' coaching staff. However, new coaches are being added so this gap is being addressed. All that is needed now is for the men to learn how to work together for one goal, victories for the Oakland Raiders.
Here is an example of what needs to be done.
In 1977 a lawyer named Jim Lemond hired me to work with him in a small construction company named Standard Development Corporation.
The company was owned by Mr. Mack H. Hannah who was a mentor to Congresswoman Barbara Jordan, who made historical speeches during ...

Caster Semenya: Prepare for the Worst
On March - 30 - 2010
From the opulent Monte Carlo offices of the IAAF (track and field's international governing body) reverberates yet another echo of a simple statement made last September: "Patience, Ms. Semenya..."
For a girl noted as the world's fastest in her discipline (800m), patience may not be an easy pill to swallow.
Indeed, the 2009 800m world champion, Caster Semenya of South Africa, has until now reluctantly complied with the IAAF's wishes and not competed since.
The long delay has revolved around Semenya's much publicized and dignity-shattering gender issue: whether or not she can compete as a woman. Instead of settling the matter quickly and ...
Tiger Woods and Joslyn James Together Again at the Masters?
On March - 30 - 2010
Fox Sports reported on Monday that former porn star and mistress of Tiger Woods, Joslyn James, is planning to be at The Masters when Woods makes his return to competitive golf.
James, whose real name is Veronica Siwik-Daniels, also told Fox News in an interview that people in Woods' inner circle knew that she was having sex with him, and it was "just false" that no one other that Woods knew about their relationship.
James also announced on her Web site that she will be pole dancing at the Pink Pony strip club in Atlanta, Ga., about 150 miles from where Woods will ...
Masters Ramp-Up Shows Tiger Woods Not Out of Trouble Yet, May Never Be
On March - 30 - 2010
The first official round of the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club is still more than a week away. That means we're still about six days from an abject furor that will descend upon the globe, the likes of which we may not be able to comprehend until it happens.
When Tiger Woods' return hits high gear at his April 5th unscripted date with members of the media (ones who haven't been hand-picked), many eyes that will never see an iron or wood put to golf ball will be watching in slack-jawed fascination.
Fans of the game must be awaiting Woods' first ...
City Stadium Profile | Philadelphia PA
On March - 30 - 2010
Welcome to the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. Once home to some of the most notorious sports facilities in the US, perhaps the world, it is now home to a handsome collection of stadiums, each with it's own flavor. And as a bonus, we are going to try and make it through this guide without mentioning that obligatory Philadelphia style sandwich.
First pictured is Citizens Banks Park (I promise you will hear more about this place from us in the upcoming weeks). It's a great facility and unlike the rest of the sports teams in the town, has actually witnessed success ...
